Privacy Policy
What data this site collects, why, and the rights you have over it.
Last updated: October 24, 2026
1. Who is responsible for your data
This site is operated by Darwin Alejandro, an independent digital marketing specialist based in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. For any question about this policy or your data, contact info@darwinalejandro.com.
2. Data collected through the contact form
This site uses one contact form (available directly on the Contact page and as a pop-up form reachable from buttons across the site). Depending on which fields you fill in, the form may collect:
- Name — to address you and identify your inquiry
- Email address — to reply to you
- Service of interest — the type of project or service you're asking about (e.g. SEO, web development)
- Approximate budget — only shown for project inquiries, to scope a relevant reply
- Best time to reach you — only shown for call requests
- Your current website URL — only shown for free-audit requests
- Message — whatever you choose to write
This data is submitted directly to a server-side script (contact-form.php) hosted
on this site's own server and delivered to Darwin Alejandro's inbox. It is not
shared with any advertising network, data broker, or third party, and is not used for any
purpose beyond replying to your inquiry.
3. Analytics and tracking
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to understand how visitors use the site — pages viewed, general location (country/city level, derived from IP), device type, and referral source. Google Analytics sets cookies on your device to distinguish you from other visitors; see the full list in the Cookie Policy.
Google Analytics only loads and only sets cookies after you accept via the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics script runs and no analytics cookie is set. Data collected by Google Analytics may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States, under Google's own data processing terms. You can find Google's privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy.
The site also uses Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) to see how pages are used: clicks, scrolling and anonymized session recordings, shown as heatmaps. Text you type into forms is masked and never recorded. Clarity follows the same rule as Google Analytics: it only loads after you accept cookies, and it does not run if you decline. See Microsoft's privacy statement at privacy.microsoft.com.
4. Other third-party services
- Google Fonts — this site loads typefaces from Google's font servers
(
fonts.googleapis.com/fonts.gstatic.com). Loading a font from Google's servers exposes your IP address to Google as part of that request, independent of any cookie. Google's font service does not set cookies. - WhatsApp — the WhatsApp button and links on this site take you to WhatsApp (Meta), outside this site. Any conversation you start there is governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy, not this one.
- Instagram — links to the Instagram profile take you to Instagram (Meta), outside this site, governed by Instagram's own privacy policy.
This site does not use Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, or any other advertising or retargeting pixel at this time. If that changes, this policy and the Cookie Policy will be updated accordingly before the new tracker goes live.
5. How long data is kept
- Contact form submissions — kept in Darwin Alejandro's inbox for as long as reasonably needed to respond to and follow up on your inquiry, and for up to 24 months afterward for basic business record-keeping, unless you request earlier deletion.
- Google Analytics data — retained per Google's own retention settings for this property; see Section 3.
- Cookie consent choice — stored in your browser for up to 12 months, after which you'll be asked again.
6. Your rights (GDPR and beyond)
If you are located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data held about you
- Rectification — ask for inaccurate or incomplete data to be corrected
- Erasure — ask for your data to be deleted ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction — ask for processing of your data to be limited
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest, including analytics
- Data portability — request your data in a portable format, where applicable
- Withdraw consent — for analytics, at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer
To exercise any of these rights, email info@darwinalejandro.com. Requests are handled within 30 days. If you believe your data has been mishandled, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
7. Children's privacy
This site is a business/professional services site and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
8. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the site's tools or practices change. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Material changes affecting analytics or tracking will also be reflected in the cookie banner.
